Overview
Fortiflock® is a daily feed supplement. For best results, poultry should get the recommended dose every day.
Fortiflock® powder is a concentrated extract from the roots of the Chinese Skullcap (scutellaria baicalensis) plant that grows natively in China. It has been used in human medicine for thousands of years to fight viruses and cancers.
Fortiflock is suitable for all ages and life stages, and can be used in any breed or species of poultry from hatch.
Birds cannot overdose on Fortiflock®. Toxicity studies have identified no known damage from Chinese Skullcap (scutellaria baicalensis), even in high doses. To the contrary, it has shown positive effects in reducing liver damage.
*A different species - American Skullcap (scutellaria lateriflora) - HAS shown liver toxicity in high doses. This is not the same plant and should not be given to poultry.
Yes! Fortiflock® is not harmed by heat or being mixed into any kind of feed. It is similar to a spice that we would use, like Turmeric. It can be added to other things and still have the same medicinal qualities.
No. Chinese Skullcap extract is not water soluble, and will clump at the bottom of waters. It should only be added to feed.
Fortiflock® is safe to feed for life, but it doesn't have to be. Here are some other examples of how poultry owners and breeders use baicalin supplements:
- Chicks from hatch through 30 weeks when their immune systems are fully mature
- Birds in the quarantine period prior to being added to the flock
- Birds being shown or taken off property where they may be exposed to viruses
- Birds showing signs of illness or after an injury when immune systems may be compromised
*For known Marek's positive flocks, it is recommended to keep the flock on a baicalin supplement for life.
Preventative Dose
✽ Used in daily feed, the baicalin in Fortiflock® supports immune resilience and viral resistance.

For adult birds
Some people prefer to mix Fortiflock® into a daily treat, fermented feed, or other supplement that is fed to all flock members at once.
Do not put in waterers - Fortiflock® is not water soluble.
